Date: Wednesday, September 18th, 2019 

• Gathering with group members

• Introduction to DP1 

• Assigning roles (administrator, coordinator, etc)

• Assigning responsibilities for the upcoming 4 weeks of the project  (note taker, chair)

• Collaborative discussion about the case study

• Asking questions from the guest speakers

• Outcomes: Milestone 1’s components were completed and submitted. 

 

Design studio 2(IBEHS 1P10A C01)

Date: Wednesday, September 25th, 2019 

• Everyone came prepared with their individual research parts

• Katie and Michelle had researched about forms and functions. 

• Christina was in charge of user and device interactions.

• Negar had researched about materials.

• All ideas were shared respectfully and the best ones were further elaborated upon to incorporate in the design solution

• Outcomes: Stages 2 and 3 of Milestone 2 were completed. 

 

Design Studio 3

Date: Wednesday, October 2nd, 2019

• Alternate: Michelle Quong

• Milestone 3 which consisted of Design configuration and Preliminary Prototyping was completed 

 

Design Studio 4

Date: Wednesday, October 9th, 2019

• Everyone was present

• Katie worked on designing the screw and thread mechanism of the low-fidelity prototype

• Christina worked on sewing the bag for the low-fidelity prototype

• Negar and Michelle worked on the written proposal

Thursday, October 10th,2019

• Katie went to the design studio, on her own time, to print the material

 

 

Picking up of the 3D parts

Date: Friday, October 11th, 2019

• Everyone met at the design studio to pick up the screw and thread mechanism parts

• Unfortunately, the printing was not done properly and only the base part was almost completed

• Since everyone had to leave for the reading week, we decided to come up with a new idea for the closing structure of the skin barrier  

 

Reading Week

Date: October 12th, 2019- October, 19th, 2019

• During the break, everyone collaboratively worked on the written proposal document

• Any questions or concerns were asked in either the messenger or iMessage group chats from other team members

• Michelle took the parts of the low fidelity prototype with her and assembled and glued the parts together. She consulted and asked questions in the groupchat during this process. 

•  

 

 

• Everyone worked on their 3 min thesis on their own time as the presentation is done and graded individually 

 

Written Proposal and Slide deck

Thursday, October 17th, 2019

• Everyone got online at the same time to work on the written proposal

• Each person had a section to complete 

  • Katie: Introduction and Statement of problem

  • Michelle: Background Research Summary + Appendix

 

• Christina: Description of the design

• Negar: Justification of the design

 

• Negar made the draft of the slide deck and everyone else modified it afterwards

 

• Everyone completed their written parts 

 

Final in-person meeting

Sunday, October 20th, 2019

• Everyone met at PGCL’s study room to work on the remainder of the project

• The written proposal was proofread

• The figures and appendices were added and completed

• The slide deck was finalized

• The 60 second discriptary video was recorded  

• Outcomes: The written proposal, video, and slide deck were all submitted to Avenue

 

Modification made to the Written Proposal

Monday, October 21st, 2019

• We were informed in the lecture that a table of contents is needed since the written proposal lacked this section, Negar made the draft of the written proposal, everyone else modified and confirmed it, and Christina submitted it 

• Outcome: Resubmission of the written Proposal
